Approaching meditation with a holistic attitude starts the transformation from being easily upset and agitated to becoming more patient and focused. It’s not just about how to focus on our breath or our body, but about how to become more organised and to look after ourselves.

At the heart of this course is the
principle and teaching of
“Direct Perception”.

This is a quality of mind that we learn to develop over time through our meditation, and it is this that brings about true transformation in our lives.

Progress in meditation happens both on and off the cushion.

This meditation course is a systematic and thorough training in the foundations of developing concentration and mindfulness, leading to a deeper sense of serenity and mental calm. From there it will take you on a journey into your own personal healing process, looking at how we can start to use meditation to dig out and release the negative habit patterns of the mind and bad reactions in our memory.

How does it work?

  • Hosted on our dedicated online course website

  • Start immediately.

  • New lesson each week.

  • Take as long as you want on each lesson. There’s no rush. (minimum time is 7days per lesson).

  • Each lesson will have a guided meditation to follow. We recommend you download this and practice with it whilst offline.

  • Listen to or read the supplementary discourse if you wish. Not included every week.

  • Email us to ask any questions you might have.

  • Lifetime access. If we ever change the course material, you’ll get the update.

What will I learn?

  • The course will build up the basic A-B-C’s of setting up a meditation practice. We believe this is key to a consistent and successful meditation practice.

  • Learning to meditate deeply within your body whilst developing the mental faculty of Direct Perception.

  • Start to engage with the healing potential that meditation can bring about.

  • Learn of teachings that show us how you can further support and develop our meditation off the cushion.

  • Learning to Concentrate. Probably the hardest thing to do in the field of meditation, but is also the most rewarding.

  • You will learn about Mindfulness and how and when it can hinder our progress if done incorrectly.

How much should I practice?

  • We recommend practising at least once a day, 4-5 times a week.

  • Guided meditations will begin at 20 mins and gradually develop to longer 30 – 40 minutes.

  • If your time is limited, all of the relevant instructions are included in the guided meditation. So no need to listen to the other material provided.

  • The supplementary discourses and reading material provided are only optional.

Is this course for me?

  • Designed for those who have at least tried to meditate before. If you haven’t been systematically taught before then we do suggest looking at the Level 0 Stillness Programme as preparation before registering for this Level 1 course.

  • For those of you who have attended our Level 1 Foundation Retreat with us, then this course is an excellent way to take your time and really develop your meditation practice. The course will help you integrate your meditation into your daily life by establishing a consistent home practice.

  • Anyone who wishes to systematically develop a supportive home practice.

  • Those who wish to investigate the powerful transformational capacity of meditation.

  • You might have practiced the popular vipassana meditation techniques. This course will help create a solid foundation from which to practice vipassana.
